What Students Do Here:

1. Understand Pig Breeds and Behavior
Students learn to:
– Identify various pig breeds and their characteristics.
– Understand pig behavior, feeding habits, and growth stages.

2. Participate in Daily Care
They assist in:
– Feeding pigs according to nutritional requirements.
– Cleaning pens, disinfecting, and ensuring proper sanitation.
– Monitoring health, weight gain, and general welfare.

3. Learn Breeding and Reproduction
Students observe or take part in:
– Mating programs, tracking gestation periods.
– Farrowing (birthing) supervision and piglet care.
– Record-keeping on reproductive performance.

4. Disease Control and Medication
They are trained to:
– Identify symptoms of common pig diseases.
– Assist in administering dewormers, vitamins, or vaccines.
– Follow biosecurity measures to prevent infections.

5. Conduct Research Projects
Students use the unit for:
– Academic research or mini-projects on pig growth, feed conversion, or disease management.
