*FACULTY OF ENGINEERING, NAU DEAN, AND STAFF PAY COURTESY VISIT TO NOCEN PROVOST*
On Wednesday, 3rd June 2026, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Nnamdi Azikiwe University (NAU), Prof. Ugochukwu Okonkwo, led a delegation of faculty members on a courtesy and congratulatory visit to the Provost of Nwafor Orizu College of Education (NOCEN), Prof. Victor Ifeanyi Obiora Ndirika.
The visit aimed to strengthen institutional collaboration, promote research synergy, and explore opportunities for academic and technological advancement between the two institutions.
In his remarks, Prof. Okonkwo congratulated the Provost on his appointment and expressed confidence in his ability to reposition NOCEN for greater excellence. He noted that Prof. Ndirika’s leadership qualities and track record of service at the Faculty of Engineering continue to inspire the faculty’s vision and direction. He also emphasized the need for sustained collaboration in research, innovation, and capacity building.
Prof. J.T. Nwabanne, a former Dean of the Faculty, praised Prof. Ndirika’s inclusive leadership style, describing it as instrumental in fostering a peaceful and productive academic environment during his tenure at the Faculty of Engineering.
In response, the Provost warmly welcomed his former colleagues and expressed deep appreciation for the visit. He noted that the gathering reflected the enduring professional and personal relationships built over the years. Prof. Ndirika reaffirmed his commitment to strategic partnerships that would promote mutual growth, joint research initiatives, and advances in entrepreneurship and innovation for the benefit of both institutions.
Members of the delegation included Prof. Ugochukwu Okonkwo (Dean), Prof. J.T. Nwabanne (Former Dean), Prof. Chris Okafor, Dr. Tochukwu Onyeyili, Dr. Ikenna Ubah, Engr. John Maduegbuna, and Dr. Chike Nwachukwu, Head of the Department of Agricultural and Bioresources Engineering.
Delivering the vote of thanks, Mr. Toney Anieboh, Acting College Bursar, expressed profound appreciation to the Faculty of Engineering team for their solidarity, goodwill, and support. He prayed that the emerging partnership between NOCEN and the Faculty of Engineering, NAU, would yield groundbreaking achievements in research, innovation, and educational development.
The visit ended with renewed commitments to fostering stronger institutional ties and advancing collaborative initiatives for the growth and development of both institutions.
