2025 TETFUND SEMPOTI WORKSHOP IN LAGOS
Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe is actively participating in the ongoing 2-day Workshop on Campus Security towards the Development of Security Master Plan for Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria (SEMPOTI), holding from Thursday, 11th to Friday, 12th December 2025 at the University of Lagos, Akoka.
The College is being represented by Mr Chris Ogbonnaya (Director Security Services) and Dr Ndu Azubuike (Dean of Student Affairs), who is representing the Provost, Dr Justina Anyadiegwu.
The purpose of the College’s participation is to gain insights from professional security experts, learn best practices in tackling the rising insecurity in tertiary institutions, and contribute to developing actionable campus security plans. Key focus areas include intelligence gathering, community policing, improved welfare for security personnel, creation of safe learning environments, and the establishment of robust security frameworks for tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
It is worth noting that the College Management had earlier organised a NOCEN Security Stakeholders’ Summit to engage both internal and external stakeholders in proffering practical and sustainable solutions to security challenges on campus.
The new knowledge and exposure expected from our delegates will further strengthen Management’s ongoing efforts to shift from reactive to proactive, collaborative, and technology-driven security strategies that will better protect the College community.
