THE ANGLICAN BISHOP OF THE NIGER WEST, HIS LORDSHIP RT. REVD. JOHNSON EKWE, PHD, VISITS THE CHAPEL OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, NWAFOR ORIZU COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, NSUGBE
The Chapel of the Holy Spirit, Anglican Chaplaincy of Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe, today, Sunday 7th December, 2025; witnessed a momentous spiritual event as the Anglican Bishop of the Niger West, His Lordship, the Rt. Revd. Dr. Johnson Ekwe, paid a pastoral visit to the College. His Lordship was accompanied by his wife, Dr. Mrs. Ngozika Ekwe.
The Provost of the College, Dr. Justina C. Anyadiegwu, together with members of the College Management Team—Mrs. Edith Nwoye (Registrar) and Mr. Anthony Aniebor (Bursar)—were on ground to receive the Bishop and his entourage. Also present were the Chaplain of the College, Ven. C.C. Ifieonu, and his amiable wife.
A major highlight of the service was the confirmation of many candidates, as well as the admission of others into the Girls’ Guild and the Women’s Guild, marking an important spiritual milestone in their Christian journey.
In his words of exhortation, Bishop Ekwe urged all the newly confirmed and the newly admitted guild members to strive to be shining examples of true Christianity. He charged them to uphold genuine discipleship, reminding them that their new status carries sacred responsibilities and obligations befitting committed followers of Christ.
In her remarks, the Provost warmly welcomed the Bishop on behalf of the entire College community. She expressed profound gratitude to God for blessing the institution through the episcopal, apostolic, and pastoral ministry of His Lordship. She further appreciated the Bishop for his consistent behind-the-scenes efforts aimed at advancing the growth and stability of the College, especially his unwavering spiritual intercession—“standing in the gap in the upper room for the College.”
The Provost equally encouraged those newly confirmed and those admitted into the Girls’ and Women’s Guilds to keep aflame the spiritual fire ignited in them through the day’s sacred rites. She urged them to remain steadfast and faithful to their Christian calling until the end of time.
The visit of Bishop Ekwe was not only a blessing to the Chaplaincy and the College community but also a renewed call to deeper faith, service, and Christian commitment.
