ANAMBRA EDUCATION SUMMIT:
INTELLECTUALS ENDORSE SOLUDO’S TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP.

The Anambra State Education Summit, held at the Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka, on the 8th of October, 2025 was a landmark event that brought together key stakeholders in the education sector, including policymakers, administrators, teachers, students, and development partners.

The Summit served as a platform for robust engagement on revitalizing education in Anambra State and aligning it with Governor Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s vision of a globally competitive, knowledge-driven economy.

A major highlight of the event was the dual keynote presentations delivered by Chief Barr. Osita Chidoka, former Minister of Aviation and education reform advocate; Prof. Uche Amazigo, a distinguished scholar and global health expert. Both speakers underscored the need to invest in teachers’ capacity development, reform the curriculum to meet global standards, and leverage technology to make education more inclusive and impactful.

The Royal Father of the Day, HRH Igwe Oranu Chidume, Eze Anaukwu ,Eze Igulube of Omor, graced the occasion, lending royal dignity and traditional endorsement to the gathering.

The Vice-Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, served as the Chief Convener, while the heads of all state-owned tertiary institutions in Anambra attended as co-conveners. Every other tertiary institution in the state was also well represented, underscoring a collective commitment to educational advancement.

Significantly, the Summit provided a platform for the Anambra intelligentsia to openly endorse the Solution Government of Prof. Soludo. Each institution presented the Governor’s transformational interventions in their respective campuses through a captivating 10-minute audio-visual documentary, showcasing achievements in infrastructure, digital learning, staff welfare, and academic excellence.

At the end of the presentations, participants unanimously expressed appreciation for the Governor’s visionary leadership and the tangible improvements witnessed across the state’s education sector. They collectively affirmed their support for the continuation of the Solution Government, declaring that Anambra’s education community has truly benefited from his transformative policies and would like him to continue for another tenure.

In response, Governor Soludo expressed heartfelt appreciation to the organizers, keynote speakers, and all participants for their solidarity and intellectual contributions. He charged the participants to be Philosopher kings and work hard through research works to create continuous impact on the society.The Governor reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the welfare of education workers and to sustaining innovations that will make Anambra’s education system a model for Nigeria and beyond.

The event concluded on a high note, with a communiqué capturing key resolutions and a renewed pledge from stakeholders to partner with the state government in deepening the transformation of education in Anambra State.
