NOCEN Hosts 2026 TRCN Professional Qualifying Examination, Welcomes 1,180 Candidates
Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe (NOCEN), on Thursday, 8 October 2026, hosted 1,180 candidates for the 2026 Professional Qualifying Examination Integrated (PQEI) of the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).
The examination was conducted as a Computer-Based Test (CBT) at the College’s ICT Centre. Candidates arrived early, and the exercise proceeded smoothly under a well-coordinated arrangement involving TRCN officials, the NOCEN TRCN team and the College’s ICT personnel.
The NOCEN TRCN Coordinator, Dr Nchedo P. Okeke, managed the College’s arrangements and ensured that all necessary preparations were in place for the smooth conduct of the exercise.
Technical and supervisory support was provided by the TRCN Technical Team from Abuja, comprising Edache Okoliko and Folarin J. Meleta, together with the Awka team led by Dr Iwuje Ngozi Frances (State Coordinator), alongside Nkiru Akegbu, Michael Anoliefo, Patrick Ugwu and Kingsley Onyije.
Their presence, in collaboration with the College’s ICT personnel, ensured that the examination was conducted efficiently and in accordance with prescribed professional standards.
Speaking after the exercise, Dr Okeke attributed the smooth conduct of the examination to the candidates’ punctuality, proper accreditation and strict adherence to the examination guidelines, as well as the effective coordination among the various teams involved.
The successful hosting of an examination involving 1,180 candidates demonstrates NOCEN’s growing capacity to manage large-scale professional examinations. It also reflects the College’s investment in functional ICT infrastructure, technical expertise and effective institutional coordination.
The exercise further underscores NOCEN’s commitment to professional excellence, technological advancement and the development of competent teachers who will contribute meaningfully to the growth and transformation of Nigeria’s education system.
