VDM LIGHTS UP AWKA STREETS IN DEFIANT TRIBUTE TO SLAIN ENTREPRENEUR “FISH MAGNET”

Amid warnings and growing insecurity in the Southeast, popular online crusader VeryDarkMan (VDM) defied the odds—and the police—to honour the memory of a fallen entrepreneur, Ifesinachi Onyekere, fondly known as Fish Magnet.

A MARCH AGAINST SILENCE

Dressed in black and armed with flickering candles, VDM led a quiet storm through Awka on Sunday. The candlelight walk kicked off from Aroma Junction, cutting through the city’s heart to the late Fish Magnet’s office along Ring Road.

It was more than just a vigil—it was a resounding cry against violence and injustice.

As the glow of candles lit up the dusk, VDM declared,

“We’re not just mourning the man—we’re exposing a system that allows our youth to be hunted in silence.”

WHO WAS FISH MAGNET?

Fish Magnet wasn’t just a businessman—he was a beacon of innovation in the fish farming space. Known across Anambra and beyond, his untimely and violent death shook his community.

While official statements remain vague, many believe his killing was deliberate—and politically or criminally motivated.

POLICE PUSH BACK

Days before the event, the Anambra State Police Command urged the public to steer clear of any Fish Magnet-related procession.

Their claim? The late entrepreneur’s family had distanced themselves from such gatherings. Their reason? Public order and safety.

But VDM wasn’t having it.

“If the police had poured this much energy into finding the killers instead of stopping candles, maybe Fish Magnet would have justice by now,” he said.

COURAGE OR RISK?

VDM’s brave act set social media ablaze. While many praised him for speaking truth to power, others worried about his safety. Comments flooded in, warning that those behind Fish Magnet’s death might still be lurking—and watching.

Yet the activist stood firm.
