Hi , welcome to;
St. Michael and all Angels’ Anglican Church Inyaba Umudim, Nnewi was founded in 1953, under Rev. J. C. Nwankwo from Obosi, the Superintendent of Nnewi District. He was given the assignment to extend the Church in all the nooks and crannies of the community.
.
The first Church Teacher was late Henry Ogbo of Igbodo now in Delta State. It was Catecist Josiah Onyedike and Mr. Emmanuel N. Asomugha who were heading the people of Inyaba that negotiated for land. Mr. Obiora Odumegwu first gave a piece of land for erection of Church building followed by Mr. Muorah Igwegbe.
.
The Church and the school buildings were built simultaneously and dedicated on the 5th of January, 1955 by the then Bishop on the Niger, His Grace, Archbishop C. J. Patterson.
.
In 1981, formal foundation laying ceremony of a new Church building was performed by His Lordship, the Rt. Rev. J. A. Onyemelukwe. He inaugurated it as a District on October 3,1992 and also performed the institution and induction of the first Superintendent of the new District- Rev. James Swim on the same day.
.
Consequently, the Church has undergone several transformation since then till the present day under the leadership of several past Priests/workers.
.
The Church became an Archdeaconry headquarters on 5th April, 2021 with the Ven. B. U. Mokah (JP) as the pioneer Archdeacon and Vicar. The present Archdeacon now is Ven. Henry Nduka (JP).
