BRIEF HISTORY AND LOCATION OF B.S.S. ORAIFITE
Boys’ Secondary School, Oraifite was established as Anglican Grammar School, Oraifite in 1962.
.
The founders were Oraifite Anglican Women Conference and Oraifite Indigenous Anglican Teachers. The Chairperson of the Women Conference was Mrs. Matilda Nwokolo (Nee Efobi) ably assisted by Chief Hon. Sir Janet Mokelu (KSC, JP OON) with Mrs Victoria Okeke as the Secretary.
The pioneer Principal of the School was Mr. D.I.S. Anyachebelu who was later succeeded in 1970 by Mr. H.A.G. Offor.

After Nigerian Biafran Civil war in 1970, the name was changed to Oraifite Secondary School. Later, it became known as Oraifite Grammar School, before the name was changed again to Boys’ Secondary School. However, till now many people refer to our school as Oraifite Grammar School.

The School is situated at Agba Achi Oraifite. Agba Achi Height is along Onitsha/ Owerri Express Way. The school’s immediate public institution neighbours are Oraifite Central Police Station and St Mary’s Catholic Church, Isingwu Oraifite.
