ANAMBRA ELECTION DRAMA: EKWUNIFE, FIRST LADY CLASH OVER EXPLOSIVE ALLEGATIONS

As the Anambra governorship race intensifies, a dramatic clash has erupted between Senator Uche Ekwunife, the APC’s deputy governorship candidate, and the state’s First Lady, Dr. Nonye Soludo.

Ekwunife is accused of making remarks that cast doubt on the First Lady’s marital fidelity, sparking an uproar across the state.

In a statement issued by her media aide Tony Ezike under the banner of the “Ekwunife Campaign Organization,” the senator denied authoring a controversial article linking Dr. Soludo to political heavyweight Chief Chris Uba.

The statement condemned the publication and urged supporters not to inflame the situation further.

However, the Anambra State Government, through Ejimofor Opara, Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, dismissed the apology as a sham.

Opara insisted that no such group as “Ekwunife Campaign Organization” exists and that only a direct, personal retraction from the senator — specifically referencing the video and audio clips in question — would be acceptable.

The clash escalated after Dr. Soludo issued a 72-hour ultimatum demanding that Ekwunife withdraw her remarks, swear before the Blessed Sacrament affirming her own marital fidelity, and even submit her children alongside the Soludos’ for DNA tests to end the controversy.

While Ekwunife’s camp continues to deny responsibility for the defamatory publication, the Soludo family insists she must take full responsibility and warns that legal action remains on the table if an authentic apology is not issued.
