SOLUDO SOUNDS THE ALARM: APC ACCUSED OF ELECTION MANIPULATION PLOT

Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo has publicly raised serious concerns about alleged plans by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to rig the forthcoming November 8, 2025, gubernatorial election in Anambra State.

Speaking during a well-attended APGA rally at Ekwulobia Urban Stadium, the governor warned that democracy in the state was under threat.

ONE-TERM PROMISES DISMISSED AS PSYCHOLOGICAL TRICKS

Soludo didn’t hold back in criticizing opposition candidates who have vowed to serve only one term. He described such pledges as laughable and dangerous, likening them to psychological tricks aimed at deceiving the electorate.

In his words, “Anyone selling the one-term idea needs a psychiatric evaluation.” He argued that these promises are not born out of selflessness but crafted to outsmart Anambra’s zoning tradition.

WARNING AGAINST POLITICAL IMPOSTORS

The governor condemned what he called the rise of “political charlatans”—individuals he claims lack the pedigree, vision, or credibility to lead a complex state like Anambra.

He described them as “job-seeking street urchins” who are trying to hijack the political space through manipulation and misinformation. Soludo urged citizens to remain vigilant and not hand over the state to opportunists.

DEFENDING ANAMBRA’S ZONING SYSTEM

Soludo reiterated his support for Anambra’s informal zoning arrangement, which ensures power rotates fairly across the state’s three senatorial districts.

He warned that any attempt to disrupt this balance would destabilize the state’s political stability. According to him, allowing anyone to break the zoning order now would set a dangerous precedent.

APGA OFFICIALLY ENDORSES SOLUDO FOR SECOND TERM

The Ekwulobia rally also served as a formal endorsement of Soludo by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for a second term in office.

Party leaders, traditional rulers, and grassroots supporters were present to declare their backing, citing Soludo’s achievements in infrastructure, education, and security. The endorsement set the stage for what promises to be a heated campaign season.

A CALL TO DEFEND ANAMBRA’S DEMOCRATIC HERITAGE

Concluding his speech, Soludo invoked the spirit of Anambra’s founding heroes—Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, and Prof. Chinua Achebe—urging the people to protect the state’s political legacy. “Anambra is too dignified for manipulation,” he said. “We must not let desperation ruin what we’ve built.”
