RISING TIDES OF TERROR: FENRAD RAISES ALARM OVER SURGING VIOLENCE IN ANAMBRA

The Foundation for Environmental Rights, Advocacy and Development (FENRAD) has condemned the growing wave of kidnappings, cult clashes, and violent crimes disturbing peace across Anambra State.

In a heartfelt statement, the organization described how abductions, street violence, and unchecked criminal activity are spreading fear and silencing communities.

They warned that ordinary people are paying the price, while perpetrators operate freely and law enforcement appears slow to respond.

FENRAD stressed that the situation is spiraling and must be addressed with urgency. Their recommendations include:

Strengthening local vigilante groups and integrating them into formal security strategies.

Creating safe, anonymous channels for residents to report criminal activity.

Launching community engagement programs that help youths escape the lure of cultism through education and skill-building.

The group emphasized that this is not just a security issue—it’s a human crisis. Behind every incident is a family torn apart, a child traumatized, a future threatened.

They called on both state and federal authorities to treat the situation as a matter of emergency—because waiting any longer, they said, may cost even more lives.
