A NATION STANDS STILL
Nigeria is set to observe a solemn and unprecedented public holiday on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, a day etched into the national calendar not for celebration, but for reflection on the life and legacy of its recently departed former leader, Muhammadu Buhari.
THE FINAL HONOUR
This special day of rest, announced by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, isn’t just another day off; it’s a profound gesture, a heartfelt mark of respect for a man who steered the ship of state through turbulent waters and dedicated his life to Nigeria’s unity and progress.
It supplements the seven days of national mourning already declared by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
A JOURNEY HOME
C. Coinciding with this national pause, Buhari’s mortal remains are expected to complete their final journey from London, arriving in his ancestral home of Daura, Katsina State, by noon.
There, a solemn burial, conducted according to Islamic rites, will lay him to rest by 2:00 PM, marking the end of an era.
