INSECURITY IN OKUNLAND SPARKS CONCERN
The incident has deepened fears over rising insecurity in Okunland, with the Okun Development Association voicing serious concern about the deteriorating security situation in the region.
ATTACK CARRIED OUT WITH VIOLENCE
Local sources reported that the kidnappers stormed the community, unleashing sporadic gunfire for over an hour before forcefully abducting the retired officer and taking him to an undisclosed location.
RANSOM DEMAND AND HEALTH COMPLICATIONS
Initially, the abductors demanded a ransom of ₦50 million. However, due to the victim’s declining health—worsened by a lack of access to essential medications—the kidnappers later reduced the demand to ₦10 million when they realized he might not survive.
