In a heart-wrenching incident, a young life was cut short in the midst of celebration. A vehicle in the convoy of Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, was involved in a fatal accident that claimed the life of 7-year-old Saratu Lawal in Akure, Ondo State.

The tragic event occurred on Thursday, April 17, 2025, as the First Lady’s motorcade made its way to a Renewed Hope Initiative event. The vehicle, a butter-colored Hilux, allegedly knocked down Saratu near the Oba Ile Central Mosque. Despite efforts to save her, the child’s life could not be spared.

The family has since received the lifeless body, and according to Islamic customs, preparations are being made for her burial. The father, Malam Lawali, has resigned to fate, attributing the incident to the will of God.
