SENATOR NATASHA AKPOTI-UDUAGHAN’S FAMILY HOUSE WAS REPORTEDLY ATTACKED BY GUNMEN

Gunmen attacked the family residence of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan in Obeiba-Ihima, Kogi State, on Tuesday, April 16, around 1 a.m. The attackers, believed to be three armed individuals, vandalized property and smashed windows, possibly assuming the senator was present. However, she wasn’t there, and the attackers were repelled by security personnel and community members.

The incident occurred around 1 a.m. on Tuesday, April 16, in
Obeiba-Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State.

RESPONSE AND INVESTIGATION

– The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, alongside community members, chased off the attackers.

The Kogi State Police Command has launched an investigation into the incident.

– The State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Miller Dantawaye, has directed the Deputy Commissioner in charge of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to commence an immediate and discreet investigation.

POSSIBLE MOTIVES

The senator’s media team suggested the attack might be linked to her recent criticism of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, whom she accused of sexual harassment.
