DSS INVITATION TO TAKE IT BACK MOVEMENT LEADER

.

The Department of State Services (DSS) in Osun State has requested the presence of Olasunkanmi Mary Oluwatosin, Organising Secretary of the Take It Back (TIB) Movement, for questioning regarding the planned nationwide protest on April 7.

.

TIB RESPONSE TO DSS INVITATION

The Take It Back Movement insists that the protest will proceed as planned, despite DSS warnings. The group aims to address concerns over President Bola Tinubu’s administration, including authoritarianism, human rights abuse, and misuse of the Cybercrime Act.

.

CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT TO PROTEST

Sanyaolu Juwon, National Coordinator of TIB, reminded the DSS that the right to protest is constitutionally guaranteed. He urged the DSS to desist from intimidating TIB members.

.

BACKGROUND

The DSS has cautioned against the demonstrations, citing identified sponsors. However, TIB remains resolute in its decision to protest, citing concerns over governance and free speech suppression. The protest is tagged: “Nationwide Protest Against Bad Governance and Suppression of Free Speech”.
