
LAGOS POLICE UNCOVER ILLEGAL CYBERCRIME TRAINING CENTER, ARREST 10 SUSPECTS

The Lagos State Police Command has discovered and shut down an illicit cybercrime training facility, commonly known as a “Yahoo School,” in the Iju area of Lagos.

FOUR ALLEGED CYBER FRAUD TRAINERS IN CUSTODY
During the operation, law enforcement officers apprehended four individuals suspected of operating the illegal center. The arrested suspects include Chibuike Ihejika (23), Stanley Ihejika (22), Obiora Oyediba (26), and Emmanuel Oyedibe (25).

SIX TRAINEES CAUGHT UNDERGOING CYBER FRAUD TRAINING
Alongside the alleged masterminds, six individuals reportedly undergoing training in internet fraud were also taken into custody. The trainees were identified as Okorie Henry, Otoh Chisom (20), Okeke Kwufrochikwu (26), Uchenna Obeji (26), Minachi Udochukwu (12), and Chinedu Ukachukwu (23).

PRINCIPAL SUSPECTS ALLEGEDLY RECRUITED TRAINEES FROM ANAMBRA STATE
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, stated on Tuesday that investigations uncovered a disturbing recruitment pattern.

“Preliminary findings indicate that the key suspects lured trainees from Anambra State, coercing them into cyber fraud and confiscating the illicit earnings from their fraudulent activities,” Hundeyin revealed.

POLICE REAFFIRM COMMITMENT TO FIGHT CYBERCRIME
The police assured the public that efforts to dismantle cybercrime networks in the state would continue. Authorities have urged residents to report suspicious activities and remain vigilant against online fraud schemes.
