UNICEF WARNS OF AID SHORTAGES FOR MALNOURISHED CHILDREN

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has raised alarms that approximately one million malnourished children in Nigeria and Ethiopia risk losing essential aid due to funding shortages.

This situation threatens the provision of vital therapeutic food supplies necessary to treat acute malnutrition among children under five. In Nigeria, around 80,000 children are expected to require these supplies by the end of this month.

The crisis stems from reduced international contributions, including significant cuts from the United States, hindering UNICEF’s capacity to address child survival challenges.
