CHERUBIM & SERAPHIM CHURCH DENOUNCES “TONGUE-TO-TONGUE” ANOINTING CEREMONY
.
A shocking video has been circulating on social media, depicting a controversial Bishop performing a “tongue-to-tongue” anointing ceremony. The Cherubim & Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria has swiftly condemned the act, labeling it “horrific” and “despicable” before God and man.
.
THE CHURCH DISTANCES ITSELF FROM THE CONTROVERSY
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the church made it clear that the individuals involved in the video are not affiliated with the Cherubim & Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria and do not represent its doctrines or values. The church expressed deep concern over the video’s content, particularly the unauthorized use of its religious symbols and the mention of its revered founder, St. Moses Orimolade Tunolase.
.
A CALL TO ACTION
The church urged its members and the general public to be vigilant and not to fall prey to false teachings and misleading interpretations of scripture. The church also called on the relevant authorities to take necessary action against those involved in the controversial ceremony.
.
THE TRUTH REVEALED
Following an internal investigation, the church identified the key figure in the video as Alfred Oluwasegun Okikiola Ogunnusi, who refers to himself as “His Eminence Baba Aladura LAHOJAH.” The ceremony reportedly took place in Ogijo, Ogun State, and the man being anointed, known as Benjamin (also called Ajigbo), operates a makeshift ‘church’ in Adamo, Ikorodu, Lagos State.
.
A REBUTTAL TO OGUNNUSI’S CLAIMS
The church condemned Ogunnusi’s attempt to justify the act using Genesis 48:10, stating that his interpretation of the passage was flawed and misleading. The church emphasized that such actions have no place in the true teachings of the Cherubim & Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria.
