IPOB DEMANDS REFERENDUM FOR BIAFRA’S PEACEFUL EXIT FROM NIGERIA

.

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has issued an ultimatum to the Nigerian government, led by President Bola Tinubu, to organize a referendum for the peaceful secession of Biafra. Failure to comply with this demand may lead to another devastating civil war.

.

IPOB alleges that the Nigerian government has deliberately marginalized the South-East region by excluding it from all capital projects in the 2025 national budget. This, they claim, is a blatant denial of citizenship to the Ndigbo people.

.

The group’s spokesperson, Emma Powerful, emphasized that the South-East region contributes substantially to Nigeria’s economy, accounting for over 40% of revenue from oil, gas, and non-oil sectors. Despite this significant contribution, the region has been neglected and denied any capital projects in the 2025 budget.

.

IPOB views this as a manifestation of the government’s contempt and ethnic bias against the Ndigbo people. The group urges the Ndigbo people to recognize that their only hope for survival and prosperity lies in an independent Biafra nation.

KEY POINTS OF IPOB’S DEMAND:

.

– Referendum for peaceful exit: IPOB demands a referendum for the peaceful secession of Biafra from Nigeria.

.

– Marginalization of South-East: The group alleges that the Nigerian government has deliberately marginalized the South-East region.

.

– Denial of citizenship: IPOB claims that the exclusion of the South-East from capital projects is a denial of citizenship to the Ndigbo people.
