NIGERIAN SENATORS UNLEASH PROBE INTO USAID’S ALLEGED TIES TO TERRORIST ORGANIZATIONS
.
A high-stakes investigation has been launched by Nigeria’s upper legislative chamber to unearth the truth behind damning accusations that the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has been inadvertently funneling funds to notorious extremist groups, including the nefarious Boko Haram.
.
The controversy erupted after a video clip featuring U.S. Congressman Scott Perry went viral, in which he dropped a bombshell allegation that USAID’s whopping $697 million annual budget had been compromised, with funds being surreptitiously channeled to radical Islamic schools, thereby facilitating the training of terrorists.
.
Perry’s startling revelation resonated with recent warnings issued by Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, who had sounded the alarm about the suspicious flow of funds and training being provided to terrorist organizations by foreign entities.
.
In response to these grave allegations, Nigerian lawmakers have summoned the country’s top security brass, including the National Security Adviser, the Director of the Department of State Services (DSS), the Director of the National Intelligence Agency, and the Defence Intelligence Agency, to provide critical clarifications and shed light on the veracity of these claims.
