The Abia State Government has flagged off a major road rehabilitation project in Aba, aimed at fixing the city’s deteriorating road network. Key roads such as Faulks Road, Port Harcourt Road, and Osisioma Junction have been prioritized due to their economic importance.

Governor Alex Otti stated that the project is part of his administration’s commitment to restoring Aba’s status as the commercial hub of the South-East. Contractors have been mobilized, and construction has commenced in select areas.

Despite the government’s assurances, residents and business owners are urging swift completion, citing prolonged hardship caused by bad roads. Some traders have called for better traffic management to ease congestion during construction.
