VIOLENCE ERUPTS IN IFITE-AWKA, ANAMBRA STATE
INCIDENT REPORT
On Wednesday night, a wave of violence swept through Ifite-Awka, Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State. The incident resulted in the reported deaths of at least four individuals.
DETAILS OF THE ATTACK
Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, with unidentified hoodlums firing gunshots into the air and targeting multiple locations. The affected areas included Book Foundation Junction, Ukwu Aki Bus Stop, “B” Bus Stop, Commissioners’ Quarters, and the Bamboo area.
KIDNAPPING AND RANSOM DEMAND
In addition to the violence, the hoodlums also invaded a hotel at Commissioners’ Quarters, kidnapping the manager and demanding a ransom of N12 million.
COMMUNITY REACTION
The incident has left the community in a state of shock and fear, with many shops remaining closed as a precautionary measure. Residents are calling for increased security measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
