TRAGEDY STRIKES ANAMBRA STATE

Gunmen enforcing the sit-at-home order killed three vigilante members and set their vehicle ablaze in Ukpo, Dunukofia Local Government Area. Seven others were injured during the attack, which also claimed one life in the Abatete community, Idemili North.

ATTACK DETAILS
The gunmen stormed the Ukpo roundabout, targeting a Toyota Sienna minibus carrying the vigilante members. Witnesses described the chaos, with gunmen shouting “No Biafra, No Freedom” while firing sporadically.

EYEWITNESS ACCOUNTS
One eyewitness recounted, “They came from nowhere, shooting sporadically and chanting ‘no Biafra, no freedom.’ People started running for safety.”

OFFICIAL RESPONSE
Police Public Relations Officer SP Tochukwu Ikenga confirmed the incident, stating that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ukpo Community is investigating. Governor Chukwuma Soludo recently ordered all markets in the state to open and disregard the sit-at-home order by criminals.
