PA TAIWO AKINKUNMI, THE NIGERIAN FLAG DESIGNER TO BE BURIED BY SEPTEMBER

Pa Taiwo Akinkunmi, the creator of the Nigerian national flag, will be laid to rest in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, on September 4, 2024.

The funeral is scheduled to take place on Friday, September 6, 2024.

In a statement released on Monday in Ibadan, his son Akinwumi Akinkunmi spoke for the family and asked that the national flag be flown at half mast at the funeral in remembrance of the deceased.

Akinkunmi expressed gratitude to the Federal Government for their efforts, particularly the condolence visit by a group headed by Idris Mohammed, the Minister of Information and National Orientation.

According to him, the family is still holding out hope for the assistance that the federal government had promised.
