NIGERIA SITTING ON EXPLOSIVES -OBASANJO

Obasanjo issued a dire warning, saying that if Nigeria doesn’t take bold and immediate action to address its many problems, it might blow up like a powder keg.

According to Obasanjo, Nigeria moves two steps forward, one step back, and one step aside.

He said that the government should pay attention to the complaints of the people and stop acting as though everything is fine, considering the demands of the #EndBadGovernance protestors to be rather valid.

Obasanjo bemoaned the fact that the nation had suffered serious defeats as a result of succeeding governments’ inability to expand on the foundation he laid.

“As I have previously warned, we should realise that if we don’t start acting appropriately, we are all sitting on a powder keg,” he declared.

For example, the demands made by the young people are quite reasonable and deserve to be taken seriously. Why should they be denied what is theirs in the first place?

“They should be heard because they are hungry, angry, frustrated, and jobless.”

“We must change our ways of doing things more than anything else,” he continued, “such as changing our system of government or adopting a single term of six or four years.” We need to change the way we think and behave.
