RUSSIA CONDEMNS THE FLYING OF IT’S FLAG BY NIGERIAN PROTESTERS.
The government of Nigeria has declared it will not put up with ralliers flying foreign flags or calls for coups.
According to Christopher Musa, Chief of Defence Staff, marchers flying foreign flags are committing a “treasonable offence, and it will be viewed and treated as such.”
The Russian embassy sent a statement on Monday stating that neither the Russian government nor any Russian officials are involved in these operations or in any way involved in their coordination.
We reiterate that Russia does not meddle in the internal affairs of other countries, particularly Nigeria.
Certain protestors’ plans to wave Russian flags are their own, and they don’t represent the official stance or strategy of the Russian government on the matter.
The head of defence, Mr. Musa, responded to the calls for a coup by saying, “Nigeria is a sovereign nation.”
The country of Nigeria is democratic.
The goal of all security services is to safeguard democracy and make sure it keeps advancing.
The Russian Embassy declared, “We think that peaceful protests that follow Nigerian law are an expression of democracy and we respect Nigerian democracy.”
But we vehemently condemn them if these incidents result in any disturbances or violent crimes.
