FEDERAL GOVERNMENT APPROVES N70,000 AS THE NEW MINIMUM WAGE

A new minimum salary of N70,000 has been authorised by President Bola Tinubu for Nigerian workers, and he has promised to revisit the country’s minimum wage legislation every three years.

This follows a meeting on Thursday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja between the President and the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress.

In a statement on X, Bayo Onanuga, President Bola Tinubu’s Special Advisor on Information and Strategy, verified the development.

“The national minimum wage law will be reviewed every three years, as promised by President Bola Tinubu, who approved a minimum salary of N70,000 for Nigerian workers.
