BECAUSE OF MY DESIRE TO INDUSTRIALISE NIGERIA, I DO NOT HAVE A HOUSE IN OVERSEAS -DANGOTE
Aliko Dangote, the richest man in Africa, claims that his ability to industrialise in Nigeria is the reason he doesn’t own properties overseas. Dangote observed that owning homes in America or London would divert him from his goal of making Nigeria a symbol of industrialization.
Speaking to reporters at the Dangote Petroleum Refinery in the Ibeju-Lekki neighbourhood of Lagos State, the billionaire made these claims.
“I wanted to focus on industrialization in Nigeria, which is the only reason I don’t have a house in London or America,” he declared. I reasoned that if I owned those houses, I would visit those locations for one reason or another, which would divert my attention.
“I have two houses: one in my home state of Kano and one that I rent in Abuja. I am very passionate about the Nigerian dream.”
