AN ABUJA HIGHWAY HAS BEEN NAMED AFTER PROFESSOR WOLE SOYINKA BY PRESIDENT TINUBU

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has named the Arterial Street N20 from Northern Road to External Northern Interstate, ONEX as Professor Wole Soyinka Expressway.

As per him, the choice was because of Prof Soyinka’s commitment to African writing being the first to win a noble prize in Literature in Sub-sahara Africa.

“President Tinubu has named the Arterial Street N20 from Northern Road to External Northern Interstate (ONEX) as Professor Soyinka Expressway as suggested by the FCT organization. In naming the street after the recognized dramatist, artist and writer who timekeepers 90 on 13 July, President Tinubu said Soyinka was the principal African to win the Nobel Writing Prize. He said Soyinka has carried honor and notoriety to Nigeria”, he said.

He added that the choice was suggested by the Government Capital Domain Organization under Nyesom Wike.
