LABOUR ANNOUNCES AN INDEFINITE STRIKE

The coordinated work, involving the Nigeria Work Congress (NLC) and the Worker’s guild Congress (TUC), has pronounced an endless strike starting on June 3, 2024.

As per the coordinated work, the strike has become vital as the Central Government seems unmanageable in its refusal to expand the N60,000 it presented at the resumption of the three sided board meeting in Abuja on Friday.

The strike was proclaimed at a joint public interview by NLC President Joe Ajaero and TUC President Festus Osifo.

Osifo expressed, “As you know, we triumphed ultimately the last gathering going before today, which was on Tuesday. In that gathering, they (the Federal government ) offered N60,000. They welcomed us for a gathering today (Friday), and we thought on it, thinking they were showing the vital responsibility.

“Amazingly, there was no serious portrayal from either the Central Government or the state lead representatives who should be essential for the discussions.

“In this way, in fact, we felt they have deserted us since they stayed determined about the N60,000 offer. Not so much as a kobo was added to what we legitimately dismissed.”
