HOW TO USE VISA® CONSTRUCTION SEALANT 9200 (600ml):
Follow these simple steps to ensure proper application and maximum performance:
1. Surface Preparation:
Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, oil, grease, old sealant, or loose materials.
Use a suitable solvent cleaner (like isopropyl alcohol) for degreasing if necessary.
For porous surfaces (e.g., concrete, brick), ensure they are structurally sound and dry.
2. Masking (Optional but Recommended):
Apply masking tape along the edges of the joint to ensure clean, professional finish lines.
Remove tape immediately after tooling the sealant.
3. Application:
Cut off the tip of the sausage and insert it into a 600ml sausage caulking gun (barrel gun).
Attach a suitable nozzle and cut it to the desired bead size.
Apply sealant in a continuous, steady bead, pushing the sealant ahead of the nozzle to avoid air pockets.
4. Tooling:
Immediately after application, tool the sealant with a spatula or jointing tool to ensure proper adhesion and a smooth finish.
Tooling must be completed within 10–15 minutes of application (before skinning occurs).
5. Curing:
The sealant will skin over in 10–15 minutes and fully cure within 24–48 hours, depending on temperature and humidity.
Avoid exposing the joint to movement, water, or mechanical stress until fully cured.
6. Clean-Up:
Remove excess uncured sealant using a solvent (e.g., white spirit or alcohol-based cleaner).
Once cured, sealant must be removed mechanically (e.g., with a blade).
Important Tips:
Do not apply on wet or frozen surfaces.
Test adhesion on sensitive or coated surfaces.
Not paintable – use color-matching sealant or design accordingly.
Avoid using in totally confined spaces – adequate ventilation is necessary during curing.
