Hi , welcome to;
HISTORY AND GROWTH OF OUR CHURCH
.
The Church began as an Anglican Prayer Assembly (APA) branch from St. Luke’s Church, Ibolo-Oraifite, with the permission of the then Parish Priest. On 27th May 1999, Layreader Simon Mgbojikwe (now Chukwuemeka) was appointed to lead the branch, holding services in his house.
.
Due to the dangers of crossing the Onitsha-Owerri Expressway, children from the APA began holding their services at Layreader Chukwuemeka’s house. As their numbers increased, the fellowship moved to the compound of Late Mr. Ikeora Olisaegbo. Over time, some elderly men and women in the area also began worshipping with the children at the same venue.
.
Recognizing the growth and need for a place of worship in the area, Revd. Benson Muoka (now Venerable Benson Muoka), the then vicar of St. Luke’s Parish, supported the initiative to establish a proper Church. At the 2007 Diocesan Synod held at Ekwulumili, under the episcopacy of The Most Rev. Godwin I.N. Okpara (JP), then Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, the establishment of a new Church at Ibolo-Oraifite was officially approved — a decision welcomed with great joy by the worshipers.
.
The Church continued to meet at the compound of Late Mr. Ikeora Olisaegbo, and his younger brother, Mr. Christian Olisaegbo, generously offered his residence to house Church workers.
.
Today, what began as a small prayer fellowship has grown into a thriving congregation with a new Church building, dedicated for worship by the Lord Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, The Rt. Rev. Ndubuisi C. Obi and finally dedicated on the 9th of April, 2023.
