Our School, Immanuel Model Secondary School Nnewi is a brain child of the then Church Vicar, Canon Ugochukwu John Okoli now Ven U. J. Okoli who laid the foundation of the School building. It was after the Men’s general meeting as they resolved to establish a Secondary School (mixed) to off-set the near absence of Secondary School within Akamili and its environs. It was first named Akamili Model Secondary School, but later was registered with her current name Immanuel Model Secondary School Akamili Umudim Nnewi.

It took off in September 2013, but suffered some setbacks and was later re-established in the year 2014. The Pioneer Principal was Mr R.C. Gbuzue and was later replaced by Mr. Bertram Oramasionwu an indigene of Akamili, who later handed over in 2018 to Mrs Blessing Ewereaku from Osumenyi who served from 1st June 2018 to December, 2022.

On January 2023, the Diocesan Bishop sent the first Clergyman to be the Principal of the School in the person of Revd Tochukwu Chukwunonso Chukwuma from Oraifite. Currently the School Manager is Revd Canon Okechukwu Uzokwe as the School has witnessed many Managers who were past Vicars of the Church.

1. Attendance and Punctuality
All students must attend school regularly and be punctual.
Morning assembly attendance is compulsory.
Absences must be supported by a written note from a parent/guardian. Absence of more than three days requires a medical certificate.
Latecomers must report to the office before entering class.

2. Uniform and Appearance
Students must wear the full school uniform neatly and properly each day.
Uniforms must be clean and presentable. Torn or altered uniforms are not allowed.
Hairstyles must be neat and moderate. Extreme styles or colors are prohibited.
No jewelry or makeup is allowed except for religious or medical reasons (with permission).

3. Classroom Conduct
Students must be respectful, attentive, and cooperative in class.
Cheating, plagiarism, and other forms of academic dishonesty are strictly prohibited.
Use of mobile phones or electronic devices during lessons is not allowed unless permitted by a teacher.
