Hi , welcome to;
A BRIEF HISTORY OF COVENANT ANGLICAN ABUBOR
.
Covenant Anglican Church of Praise was planted by St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Abubor Nnewichi, Nnewi, on the 27th of April, 2008, during the tenure of Rev. Canon Charles A. Maduakor as Vicar.
.
The church began with evening worship services (Evensong) held at the residence of the late Pa Edwin and late Mrs. Patricia Oguchi. The overwhelming turnout at these services led to the decision to begin regular Sunday morning worship.
.
The inaugural Sunday morning service took place on the same day the church was planted, 27th April 2008. Ord. Gideon C. Victor served as the reader and preacher, delivering a sermon from Matthew 13:30. The service, held at 6:30 AM, recorded an attendance of 48 worshippers.
.
The first official church worker posted by the then Diocesan, The Rt. Rev. Godwin I. N. Okpala, was Evangelist Joshua Agu, a missionary evangelist. He commenced his ministry on 4th May 2008, preaching from Deuteronomy 4:7–10. The reader for that service was Mr. Somtoo Oguchi (now a Church Teacher), and attendance rose to 63.

.
In 2017, Rev. Frank Aniakor continued the project, contributing meaningfully to its advancement. Upon his transfer in 2020, Rev. Josiah Eze took over. Under his leadership, the church experienced remarkable growth—spiritually, structurally, financially, and numerically.
.
His tenure saw the church building progress from blockwork to full plastering, roofing, and installation of windows with protectors, doors, and altar tiling. A marble altar table, altar chairs, bishop’s seat, and a four-room toilet and three-bathroom facility were also completed. Rev.
