Thursday, 10/03/2022 marked another new Dawn in the Annals of the Only State-owned Polytechnic, Anambra State Polytechnic Mgbakwu (ANSPOLY) as the First Two Teaching Staff of ANSPOLY who applied for the TETFund ASTD Sponsorship through ANSPOLY, having met all the requirements in the TETFund ASTD Sponsorship Guidelines, were presented with their respective TETFund ASTD Scholarship Award Letter.
In a brief but very heartwarming and Epoch making Event, the Rector Dr. Nneka Mefoh recalled that ANSPOLY was approved as a TETFund beneficiary Institution in 2020, after the successful inspection of the Polytechnic by the TETFund team in 2019.
The Polytechnic received the first allocation in August 2021, along with other Beneficiary institutions in Nigeria for year 2021 Intervention Funds. She reminded the Staff that there are up to 11 Intervention Lines which included but not limited to Staff Development (Academic Staff Training Development) where qualified Teaching Staff who applied and selected are sponsored by TETFund for Postgraduate Studies both Locally and Abroad. The Rector, continued to urge and encourage the Staff to take advantage of this and other Intervention Lines to develop themselves and further develop the Polytechnic, the Students, the State, the Nation and the World at large.
She advised the ASTD Sponsorship Beneficiaries to use the opportunity to further develop themselves and their careers and be good Ambassadors of ANSPOLY while they are at the various universities for their postgraduate studies.
She urged them to use the funds for what it is meant for and return to ANSPOLY after their studies to impact and impart on ANSPOLY generally. She thanked God Almighty for blessing ANSPOLY with TETFund Intervention Funds and prays for more blessings and favours from God. She also greatly appreciated the Visitor, Anambra State Polytechnic Mgbakwu, His Excellency, Chief Dr Willie M. Obiano, Executive Governor of Anambra State who graciously brought about this pleasant favour-filled development by releasing fund for accreditation of the Polytechnic in 2019 which is one of the major criteria for Enlistment by TETFund. She also expressed gratitude to the Executive Secretaries of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) for their contributions towards the great turn around of positive development in the institution.
