RENEWING THE FUTURE: SOLUDO BEGINS FULL RENOVATION OF CLASSROOMS AT NOCEN NSUGBE
In a move that reaffirms his administration’s commitment to revitalizing the education sector, Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has launched a comprehensive renovation of classrooms and learning spaces at Nwafor Orizu College of Education (NOCEN), Nsugbe.
CLASSROOMS UNDER TRANSFORMATION
The renovation project covers multiple academic blocks within the college, where the following are being carried out:
Complete structural repair of worn-out walls, ceilings, and floors
Modern classroom redesigns, allowing more natural light, proper ventilation, and improved acoustics
Installation of ergonomic classroom furniture to replace old, broken desks and chairs
Fresh painting and finishing touches, creating visually stimulating spaces conducive to concentration
Provision of teaching aids and whiteboards, replacing outdated chalkboards and enhancing digital readiness
These upgrades aim to breathe new life into learning environments and vibrant centers of intellectual growth.
THE GOVERNOR’S VISION FOR TEACHER EDUCATION
Speaking through officials from the Ministry of Education, Governor Soludo stated that no educational reform can be complete without addressing the physical state of the classroom—the most fundamental space for student-teacher interaction.
“We are not just fixing buildings. We are fixing the system from the foundation. When students learn in dignity, they are more likely to teach others with pride,” the governor noted.
The renovation is not a cosmetic gesture but a strategic investment into the future of teacher education in Anambra.
By creating comfortable, modern, and well-equipped classrooms, the government seeks to elevate both the quality of instruction and the morale of learners and educators.
A NEW DAWN FOR NOCEN
With freshly renovated classrooms already nearing completion, students and lecturers have begun to express hope and renewed enthusiasm for academic activities.
BEYOND STRUCTURES: A CULTURE SHIFT
The physical renovation is also expected to trigger a psychological and cultural shift across the institution. Cleaner, safer classrooms tend to improve:
Student attentiveness and participation
Teacher productivity and preparedness
Classroom discipline and time management
General academic performance
Many education analysts agree that learning space quality directly affects learning outcomes, making Soludo’s focus on classroom rehabilitation a practical and visionary step.
