My name is Obinna David Udegbunam, and I am here not just to seek your vote, but to speak
from the heart about a new vision for our Union’s treasury, a vision rooted in honesty,
transparency, and service.
Like many of you, I came into this institution with big dreams — dreams to grow, to belong, to
make an impact. But along that journey, I saw something that didn’t sit well with me: the misuse
of funds, the confusion around our dues, and the silence that follows every financial decision
made in our name.
So I asked myself: What if we did things differently?
And that is why I stand here today not for title, not for show but for responsibility.
I am contesting for the office of Treasurer because I believe our Union needs someone who will
protect its most sensitive asset, its money, with wisdom, clarity, and truth.

AS TREASURER, MY GOALS ARE CRYSTAL CLEAR:
✅ 1. TRANSPARENT FINANCIAL REPORTING
Every student deserves to know how every kobo is spent. With the help of the SCHOOL
MANAGEMENT and MY SUG EXECUTIVES I will publish term-by-term financial reports, clearly
showing income and expenses made available possibly on WhatsApp platforms.
✅ 2. STRICT ACCOUNTABILITY
With the help of the School Management And The Sug Executive Every expense whether it’s
for events, trips, or welfare will be backed with receipts, documentation, and committee
approval.
✅ 3. STUDENT-LED BUDGET OVERSIGHT
If you pay dues, you deserve to have a seat. That’s why with the help of the SUG EXECUTIVE I
will create a Faculty-Based Budget Review Team ,made up of students from every faculty to
oversee spending plans and challenge proposals. We will run a treasury where students have a
seat at the table.
My fellow students, this is not just a manifesto
This is a movement for financial integrity.
We have seen UNIONS fall short in the past. We have seen projects promised but not delivered.
We’ve seen our money used, but not explained.
It’s time to change that.
Let us build a treasury where truth leads, structure guides, and every NOCENITE matters.
I am not coming to make noise, I am coming to work with discipline, honesty, and vision.
Let my hands hold the finances, but let your voice guide how it is used.
