The Minister of state of Labour Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha said on Wednesday while addressing Nigerian Workers that even though the Government is still negotiating on the New Minimum Wage; that the workers should not worry over it for it must take effect on May 1st.

The Beneficiaries of the 25% and 35% Minimum Wage increase comprises of The Consolidated Public Service Salary Structure (CONPSS)which applies the Federal Ministries, extra Ministries and Agencies. The Consolidated Police Salary Structure (CONPOSS) which refers to the Nigerian Police Salary. The Consolidated Paramilitary Salary Structure (CONPASS) which is the official salary for Paramilitaries. The Consolidated Intelligence Community Salary Structure (CONICSS), The Armed forces salaries, The Research and Allied Salaries

The Labour Union stated that the minimum wage should be reviewed every 5 years to meet up with the Immediate Economic Statues of the Country.
