OUR HISTORY & INTRO:
The existence of the Home started on 29th May 1979 with d birth of twins namely Peter & Paul at d Nsukka Health Center when Dr. E Obasi was d Medical Director. After d birth of d twins, their mother died & their father was very poor. The Medical Director approached d then President of National Council for Women Societies (NCWS), Mrs Elizabeth Ogbu for help. She approached d then Chairman of Nsukka Local Govt. Council for accommodation for d twins. He took pity on them & gave them a room at d Nsukka Welfare Office. From there d twins were taken to d GRA Quarters for temporal accommodation.
This was called Motherless Babies Home, GRA, Nsukka. Other babies with similar fate were also accommodated & taken care of. Chief Jim Nwobodo, The State Governor then, alortted a plot of land to d Babies at Onuiyi Road where d site is currently situated in a temporal apartment for now. Due to lack of finance, d main building which is to harbour d babies is still at the foundation level. The kids depend mainly on Charity & donations from individuals for their survival. OUR ONGOING PROJECTS:
Completion of our Main Building which will accommodate everyone, more babies and everything we do and plan to do in the future, according to our vision and objectives. Anything you give will go a long way in seeing that this project is covered.
