1987. I gained admission to study Religious studies at University of Jos. Graduated in 1991.

MinisterialCall:The urge to go into the ministry actually started during my national youth service at Kogi State when l was made the Ankpa zonal pastor till l was the head of the delegate that welcomed the new batch of corpers into the camp.Then when l was doing business l had a dream where a voice from heaven was telling me to go and make disciples for Christ.One day l woke up from dream where l was told to go to Abakaliki and see the Anglican Bishop.On getting there,l was just explaining the details of my call.He gave a letter of appointment while l was still talking in January,1999.l was sent for ordination training in September,2000.After my graduation at Trinity Union theological,Umuahia in June,2001.l was ordained at the Diocese of Nnewi in July,2002 as a Deacon.ln July 6th,2003,l was ordained a priest.Stations served with dates:

My name is Rev’d Canon John Ugochukwu Okwelogu,I was born in the year,24th October 1971,at Onitsha, I’m the 5th child of Elder Augustine and late Mrs Dorothy Okwelogu,hailed from Okija in Ihiala Local Government Area, Anambra state , Nigeria.
I attended my primary school at Zik’s Avenue primary school fegge Onitsha,grew up in (A.P.A) now A.C.M .I finished my primary school in ,1983.And enrolled into Comprehensive secondary school Onitsha, for my junior education,gained admission into Government Technical College Enugu,came out in 1991.
I joined business in 1996, Electrical parts at Moore street Onitsha,
I received ministerial call in 1999, after the examination ,I was employed as Church teacher at St Silas Church Ihiala, under then Ven.Dr Samuel Ezeofor now, Bishop of Aguata Diocese.Attended Theological College Umuahia in the year 2002,came in the year 2006 and Ordained the same year . Posted at St Philip’s Church Okohia Ihiala, Married in the year 26th August 2006,to Mrs Ngozi Okwelogu (Nee Akam) from Obinugwu village Ebenator in Nnewi south Local Government Area.Blessed with four Children.

A native of Umudim Nnewi of Nnewi North l.G.A.of Anambra State Nigeria.Attended st Michael’s Inyaba primary school and Okongwu memorial secondary school.later ordained a layleader of Nnewi Diocese by then Bishop of the Diocese,The Rtd Rev Godwin Opkala. later joined the ministry in 2004 in Calabar Diocese of Anglican Communion.Went to Trinitarian theological school Umuahia in 2008 finally ordained decon in 2011 and Priested on 2013.Finally back to my home Diocese of Nnewi Anglican Communion in 2024 January.
