Dr. Justina Anyadiegwu is an English Language Lecturer with over 30 years experience having taught at the primary, secondary and tertiary education levels in Nigeria. She is an Applied Linguist with emphasis on active learning strategies and inclusive language education.
.
She was a consultant trainer for the British Council between 2012-2014 on Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) and Teaching Knowledge Test.
.
CLIL refers to situations where curricular subjects such as Mathematics, Geography, Biology, History, etc., are taught through a foreign language with the dual objectives of the teaching and learning of the content and the foreign language.
.
While TKT is a modular teaching qualification which tests knowledge in specific areas of English teaching. She is currently a Master Trainer for the British Council’s STEP: Strengthening Teachers’ English Proficiency aimed at inculcating the mastery of classroom English to Basic Education teachers in Nigeria.
.
Thus, Justina was part of the master trainers that went round Nigeria within the period to train Basic Education teachers on these approaches. She consulted for, and was also a resource person for teacher development programmes organised by the Universal Basic Education Commission, Anambra State, Nigeria in 2012. She facilitated the Oral English aspect of teaching phonics and phonemic awareness to Basic Education teachers. This greatly helped in equipping them with skills in teaching word recognition, pronunciation and reading fluency.
.
Justina attended the Abuja Regional Hornby School in 2015 and 2016 where Sub-Saharan African nations their language teaching experiences and charted a course from the lessons learnt. Fallout from participating in the Regional Hornby School included two researches done on English Medium of Instruction (EMI) in Nigeria for the British Council.
.
Justina was recently nominated a member of the National Technical Working Group for Strengthening Teachers’ English Proficiency (STEP) and Digital Literacy for Pre-Service Teacher Training in Nigeria, a project in partnership between the British Council and the National Commission for Colleges of Education.

The Principal’s Remarks on the 2023 SS3 Set.

It is my pleasure to briefly remark on the 2023 SS3 set of our school. This is a set we may refer to as ‘small but mighty’, going by their number and their performances.
As we see them today, some of them may appear small and even feeble, but behind that today’s feeble appearance is mighty and great people of the future.
I congratulate them for I know by God’s grace, the future holds great things for each of them.
May God bless the 2023 set as they soar to the top.
Revd. Engr. Ikechukwu Oguegbu, Principal.
