    Today Governor Willie Obiano inspected works at the Marine settlement near Onitsha Prisons.
    The settlement which was a slum and hideout for criminal activities, was demolished and cleared by the State Physical Planning Board last week, on the orders of the governor.
    The governor who was conducted round the area by the Chairman of the Board, Barr Chike Maduekwe, also during the visit directed that the shanties opposite the place be removed and that the nearby yam market be reorganized to give the place a better outlook.
    Greater Anambra is at Hand
    Earlier today, Gov WillieObiano inspected the opening of a catchment pit to minimize the massive flooding experienced at an Ogidi axis of the Old Awka-Onitsha road. According to report gathered the project is temporary measure which the State government is taking before the permanent work will be done which will entail creating a route that will carry the flood, 3kilometers to a nearby stream.
    Gov Willie Obiano during the inspection visit, promised that the permanent effort will commence during the dry season.
